One night we received a call from someone saying that they needed help. There was a hit deer on 228 that the caller was protecting by parking in the middle of the road in order to block traffic coming from either side of the road until we were able to move it out of the way.
When we arrived we were glad that no one had approached the deer because we realized that it was a buck with horns and he could have hurt someone. After administering pain killers we moved him to the side of the road to see what kind of treatments were needed. Luckily he only had minor injuries and was knocked out. Later the good Samaritan was contacted with the good news and she has even seen him in the woods since then.
